About Paul
Where it Began
Paul Wesolowski had his start in high school producing a “street magic” TV show called Magic Monday. Paul not only directed and edited the show, but he also starred in it. Since this show aired weekly on the school’s video announcements, Paul was exposed to many of the beauties and quirks of filmmaking. With persistent hard work, he was able to achieve first place for TV at the Midwest Media Educators Association (MMEA) Film Festival for High School. That affirmed to Paul that he was on the right path, and he continued his studies in filmmaking at Columbia College Chicago.
Where it is Now
Paul has developed much of his “run and gun” talents through numerous freelance jobs including weddings, real estate shoots, small business videos, and many other projects he has picked up throughout the years. Through these jobs, he learned countless skills and learned to be very flexible and mobile in difficult environments with large and small teams alike. Paul also has years of in-house experience where he acquired high production value lighting skills in controlled environments and managed high-budget projects to create a variety of deliverables.
Beyond the corporate sphere, Paul has worked with the non-profit Watts of Love and has traveled around the world utilizing his filmmaking skills to tell the stories of individuals in the most remote areas in the world. Also, if you explore his Instagram, you’ll see that he’s also a magician! He’s been performing since he’s been 11 years old and has taken up posting magic videos when he has downtime and performing gigs on the weekend.
Paul completed a BA in Filmmaking at Columbia College Chicago with a focus on Documentary Filmmaking. He has also worked with brands such as McDonald’s, Blue Moon, and Miller Lite to produce ads and videos to further their brands.
